Heading the Agenda: Employment, Europe and Capital

“Porto Tech Week” works on the conditions that are paramount for a top innovation region. The program 2017 – 2020 contains three priorities: an innovative approach to the employment market, extended European cooperation and more accessible capital for innovative companies

The Employment theme

There is no innovation and international competitiveness without sufficient well-qualified personnel. In that respect, Europe is confronted by relevant challenges. There is still more demand than supply when it comes to engineering and technology talent, especially in view of the rapid emergence of many new ICT- driven jobs. How to overcome such challenge?
CBT Academy (awarded with the Seal of Excellence by the European Commission) and InvestPorto have the solution.

The European Cooperation Theme

Today when the foundations in Europe seem to be tested on a daily basis it is time for Europeans to be even prouder of what their ancestors have created and work together to contribute to solve the skills´ shortage drama imposed by the digitalization of the labor market. By 2020 millions of Europeans are not going to fit the labor market because their skills will become obsolete due to industry 4.0. Are the Europeans going to overcome such challenge? Yes. Let’s work together on the solution.

The Capital theme

Access to capital for innovative SMEs that strive to grow is crucial for economic growth and employment. Also for skilled talent that wishes to relocate and work in Porto is important to be aware of attractive job opportunities at employers supported by a professional network of public and private organizations. The Executive Agency for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (EASME) will attend as keynote speaker in the event to highlight how are supporting the most innovative SMEs in Europe.
